Board of Directors & Other Supporters

Board of Directors

Physicians, community members, clergy members, attorneys, bankers, real estate agents, certified public accountants …are drawn from different walks of life and unite to dedicate their time, knowledge and resources to fulfill the vision of Father Harry Tompson. From securing funding to finding staff, it’s the mission of our Board of Directors to ensure our Center is a center of life and hope for those living homeless and in crisis in downtown New Orleans. Many of our Board members are also parishioners at the birthplace of our ministry, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

We are a non-profit organization whose funding comes from many sources. We receive grants and donations from corporations, foundations, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, as well as support from individual donors and fundraising events. Our government and foundation grants constitute less than 40% of our total funding, so our individual donors are crucial to continuing the mission of the Center.

We collaborate with many other area non-profit organizations serving homeless individuals. We are members of UNITY of Greater New Orleans, the lead agency for the homeless Continuum of Care in the New Orleans region and members of the City-led Inter-agency Action Council for the Homeless. We participate in their goal of ending and reducing homelessness in the community.

We offer a place for other agencies and groups to provide services to the homeless including: Volunteers of America, NO AIDS Task Force, Metropolitan Human Services District, the UNITY Welcome Home Outreach Program and Project HELP, a legal services initiative founded and coordinated by Judge Jay Zainey.

Other supporters of our mission include our Supply Donors who collect and donate items such as hygiene supplies, office supplies, reading materials, medical supplies, towels, winter coats, gloves, backpacks, socks, and other needed guest supplies.
