We have many kinds of volunteers and all of them bring different strengths to their service. We love people who love people. and who help us deliver services while embodying our values of treating our guests with compassion, dignity, and respect.
Because we work with a vulnerable population, we ask that volunteers have some background in working with unhoused populations or trauma-in
The Center functions best when we are staffed with individuals who can volunteer regularly, as such, we have limited capacity to host one-time or drop-in volunteers. There are many different efforts our volunteers can be involved in, such as: daily services, committees, programs, and beautification days.

Specialized Care
Medical Volunteers
Current positions are limited - we encourage professionals in the medical field, public health, counseling, social work, and other careers who bring specialized knowledge to our guests to inquire.
Programs
Gala Planning Committee - help us raise critical funds for the Center by joining our Gala planning committee
Lead a new program - if you are interested in facilitating a new program, we encourage you to reach out and pitch us! We’d love to hear how you want to bring joy into the lives of our guests

Volunteer Opportunities: Please note that service hours for the HTC are Monday - Friday 7am-12:30pm. Most volunteers dedicate 2+ hours per shift.
Daily Services
Front door/Service Sign In - greet and sign in guests as they arrive to the HTC and offer information/referral services
Phone Service Staffer - sign in guests for telephone services, help guests look up phone numbers, and assist guests to navigate phone calls when needed
Hygiene Services Volunteer - assist with the coordination of shower services by setting up, sanitizing showers between usage, and laundering towels
