Our Community Partners
We are a non-profit organization whose funding comes from many sources. We receive grants and donations from corporations, foundations, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, as well as support from individual donors and fundraising events. Our government and foundation grants constitute less than 40% of our total funding, so our individual donors are crucial to continuing the mission of the Center.
We collaborate with many other area non-profit organizations serving unhoused individuals. The Rebuild Center in which we are located shares office space with Lantern Light Ministries and Depaul USA, each of which offer crucial support for our guests. We are members of UNITY of Greater New Orleans, the lead agency for the homeless Continuum of Care in the New Orleans region and members of the City-led Inter-agency Action Council for the Homeless. We participate in their goal of ending and reducing homelessness in the community.
We offer a place for other agencies and groups to provide services to the homeless including: Traveler’s Aid Society, Crescent Care, Freestanding Communities, Bridge House Grace House, Grace at the Greenlight and many more.
Other supporters of our mission include our supply donors who collect and donate items such as hygiene supplies, reading materials, towels, backpacks, socks, and other needed guest supplies.
Board of Directors
Our Board of Directors is made up of community members from all walks of life who dedicate their time, knowledge, and resources to fulfill the vision of Father Harry Tompson. It is the mission of our Board to ensure that our Center provides quality care and services to those experiencing homelessness in downtown New Orleans. We are grateful for the continued support and counsel of all former and current Board members.
