The Harry Tompson Center provides a calm and caring environment in which to serve the needs of unhoused individuals in New Orleans.

The Harry Tompson Center is dedicated to improving the quality of life for all those who come to us in need, not only by responding to physical needs, but also by attending to the whole person with respect and compassion.

Philosophy

We believe in meeting the needs of our unhoused guests in a way that offers compassion, dignity, and respect. We believe in the healing powers of smiles, hugs, and knowing a friend’s name. We believe everyone deserves to have their basic needs met, and that everyone deserves to have a home. We work hard to find appropriate housing for the most vulnerable people in our city. We believe in the power of a loving community and seek to build community with all of our guests, staff, volunteers, and supporters.
